Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven Fertilizer / Petrochemicals Trader to join our trading team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, sourcing, marketing, and executing international trading transactions across fertilizer, Petrochemicals, and mineral commodities. This role requires a deep understanding of global commodity markets, strong commercial acumen, and an established network of suppliers and buyers across key international markets.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing end-to-end trading activities, including market analysis, contract negotiations, logistics coordination, risk management, and relationship development, while consistently delivering profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Trading & Business Development
- Identify, develop, and execute profitable trading opportunities across fertilizer, Petrochemicals, and mineral commodity markets.
- Manage the full trade lifecycle from sourcing and procurement through to sales, logistics, and contract completion.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with producers, suppliers, distributors, traders, and end-users globally.
- Expand market presence by identifying new business opportunities, customers, and trading channels.
- Drive revenue growth through effective market penetration and portfolio development.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and customers on pricing, contract terms, payment structures, and delivery schedules.
- Structure and execute international trade contracts in compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Monitor contract performance and ensure timely execution of all commercial obligations.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to optimize trade finance and working capital requirements.
Market Intelligence & Risk Management
- Monitor global fertilizer, Petrochemicals, and mineral markets, including supply-demand trends, pricing movements, freight rates, and geopolitical developments.
- Analyze market intelligence to identify opportunities and mitigate commercial risks.
- Develop trading strategies to manage market volatility, counterparty risk, and supply chain disruptions.
- Provide regular market insights, forecasts, and trading recommendations to senior management.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with logistics, shipping, and operations teams to ensure efficient execution of international shipments.
- Manage vessel nominations, freight negotiations, shipping schedules, and trade documentation.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, import/export requirements, and contractual obligations.

The role will focus on the trading of fertilizers, chemicals, and minerals, including but not limited to:
- Sulphur
- Petrochemicals
- Urea
- Rock Phosphate
- DAP (Diammonium Phosphate)
- MAP (Monoammonium Phosphate)
- NPK Fertilizers
- Ammonium Sulphate
- Other related fertilizer and agricultural commodities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, International Trade, Economics, Agriculture, Supply Chain, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional qualifications in commodity trading, international trade, logistics, or finance will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in international commodity trading.
- Proven track record in fertilizer, chemical, and mineral commodity markets.
- Demonstrated experience in managing international trade transactions and complex commercial negotiations.
- Strong understanding of commodity trading economics, trade finance, logistics, and supply chain management.
